The small print
Editorial policy
Where the facts on themelasa.com come from, what we will not claim about our headwear, and how to report a mistake.
The people who run the MELASA catalog write every page on themelasa.com. Here is how a fact gets onto a page.
Facts about the products
Lumens, brightness levels, hours on a charge, head sizes, pair counts, fabrics and colors are taken from our own product data, one style at a time. A figure printed for one hat is never carried over to another: if a style does not state its hours on a charge, its page prints no hours.
The photographs show our own products. Pictures with slogans, arrows or figures printed over them stay off the site. The film on the home page is cut from our own footage.
What we do not claim
We do not say a beanie keeps you safe on the road, a cap prevents heat illness, or a liner is approved for your hard hat. A reflective stripe helps drivers see you, and it is not a high-visibility garment. Side shields add cover at the sides of everyday glasses, and they are not safety eyewear. Where a page talks about eye protection, head protection, cold, heat or being seen at night, it names the source, and the source is linked from our guides.
Corrections
If a figure, a price or a sentence here is wrong, write to lightdesk@themelasa.com. We fix the page and the product data behind it.
