Switch the light on and it points wherever you look, so both of your hands stay on the leash, the wrench or the grill. Pick the knit for your weather: plain acrylic, fleece-lined, longer ear covers or a reflective stripe. The light charges from any USB port.
Fleece caps keep your ears warm on winter rides and cold shifts, and some have holes for your glasses. Mesh caps catch sweat at the brow in summer before it reaches your eyes. Both stay thin at the crown, so your helmet still sits where it should.
Mesh liners sit thin under the suspension and catch sweat at your forehead. Some add a shade for the back of your neck, and some come three to a pack. Before you wear one on the job, ask the maker of your hard hat which liners it allows.
Our hats with a rechargeable light in the cuff come in knit and fleece-lined styles for adults, a set with a neck warmer, and kids hats in smaller sizes. Charge the light before you wrap it, and it works the moment the paper comes off.

Since 2020
For 6 years MELASA has made headwear for people who start before sunrise and finish after dark: dog walkers, delivery drivers, mechanics, cyclists, roofers and kids on the walk home from practice. You will find LED beanies in dozens of colors, fleece liners that fit under a helmet, mesh caps for summer heat, and clear side shields that slip onto the glasses you already own.
Before you order
A light in the cuff throws its beam where your face points: the path at your feet, the lock on a gate, the engine bay. If you need to be seen from the road as well, pick a style with a reflective stripe.
Read the LED beanie guideA dog walk and a night shift ask different things of a battery. Run time on our LED styles goes from 2 to 8 hours on the fleece-lined reflective hat to up to 10 on the Kids LED Beanie, so compare the hat you have in mind, not its neighbor.
Compare the LED beaniesRun a tape around your head just above the ears and the eyebrows. Our liners print the range they stretch to, and a liner that is too tight under a helmet is the one you take off by lunch.
Read the liner guideWe sell caps for wear under a hard hat or a bike helmet, but the helmet maker decides what may sit inside its shell. Read the label in your hard hat before the first shift with a liner.
What the rules say about linersLiners with glasses holes keep the arms of your frames off your ears. Side shields close the gap at the sides of the frames you already wear, and they do not turn them into safety eyewear. Where your job calls for eye protection, goggles go over your glasses.

Press the buy button on any MELASA style and it opens the hat, cap or pack you picked, in the color or pack size you chose, at our retail partner. That is where the price is confirmed and where you check out. Payment, delivery and returns are handled there as well.
Yes. Take the light unit out of the cuff, put the knit through a hand or machine wash, and wait until it is dry before the light goes back in. The light itself stays out of the water. The LED beanie guide shows which styles have a light that comes out.
On the plain LED Beanie with Light, about 4 hours left on and 6 to 8 hours when you switch it on and off as you need it. The Fleece-Lined LED Beanie runs nearly 8 hours and the Kids LED Beanie up to 10. Every light charges from a standard USB port.
Several of our cooling caps and the Microfleece Skull Cap are sold for wear under a hard hat and add little bulk. Whether your helmet allows a liner is up to its maker, so ask before you wear one on the job. Our LED beanies never go under a hard hat. The skull cap and liner guide has more.
No. They add clear cover at the sides of everyday glasses with arms under 12 mm, or under 10 mm for the slim pair. On a job that requires eye protection, you need prescription safety glasses or our anti-fog goggles on top of the glasses you have. The eye protection guide explains the difference.
A hat with a reflective stripe sends headlight back to the driver, and two of our LED beanies carry a stripe all the way around as well as the light. Reflective material does the most where it moves, on wrists and ankles, so wear some there too. See the reflective beanies and the seen at night guide.
