Gear that works with the glasses you already wear

Wear glasses under a winter cap and the fleece pins the arms against your head, then a face cover sends your breath up into the lenses. Four pieces here are cut with that in mind. The two Winter Helmet Liners, the Ear Warmer Helmet Liner and the 2-in-1 Balaclava Helmet Liner all have a hole on each side for the arm of your glasses. The frame then rests on your ear rather than on a fold of fabric.

For your eyes themselves there are two different answers. The side shields slide onto the arms of everyday glasses and add clear cover at the sides, for arms under 12 mm or, in the slim style, under 10 mm. They do not turn everyday glasses into safety eyewear, since OSHA accepts side shields only on glasses that already meet Z87.1. If a job site asks you for eye protection, the Anti-Fog Safety Goggles go over your glasses on an elastic strap. Look for the Z87 mark on the frame before you rely on them.
