Two problems after dark, and the hat that answers each
Work after dark brings two problems. You need light on the bolt, the meter or the path, and you need drivers to know you are there. The LED beanies take the first, with a light in the cuff aimed by your head so both hands stay on the job. The two plain reflective knits take the second. The Reflective Stripe LED Beanie and the Fleece-Lined Reflective LED Beanie do both at once, with a stripe that runs all the way around the hat.
NHTSA counts 77% of pedestrian deaths in the dark, which is reason enough to take the second problem seriously. It also notes that lights help and that reflective material does most on moving wrists and ankles and along the outline of your body. A hat at head height is one piece of that. If your road crew requires a high-visibility vest under ANSI/ISEA 107, the hat goes with the vest, never in place of it.
These 8 styles are part of the MELASA lineup, $8.99 to $22.99 in our last catalog update.

Questions
Night work: what people ask
Should you wear a MELASA LED beanie or a reflective beanie for night work?
It depends on what you need. The LED beanies put light on the job in front of you, and the reflective knits light up when a driver's headlights reach them. If you need both, the Reflective Stripe LED Beanie and the Fleece-Lined Reflective LED Beanie carry a stripe and a light.
Can a MELASA hat replace your high-visibility vest?
No. ANSI/ISEA 107 rates whole garments, not hats, so a reflective beanie earns no class under it. If your road crew requires a vest, wear the hat with it, and add reflective bands where you move, on wrists and ankles.
Will a MELASA LED beanie last through your shift?
The plain LED Beanie with Light runs about 4 hours left on and 6 to 8 hours used on and off, the fleece-lined style nearly 8 hours, and the Fleece-Lined Reflective LED Beanie 2 to 8 hours by brightness. For a long shift, keep a power bank and the cable in your truck.
