Fits and works with
Fits and works with
Night runs, dog walks, snow shovelling, hiking and fishing in the short days of winter. It makes you easier to spot in a car's headlights, and it works best with reflective bands on your wrists and ankles, because a moving reflector is noticed sooner. It is not a hi-vis garment and does not replace the vest your job requires, and it is not a hard hat liner.
About this style
A reflective stripe all the way round and a light you can face forward or back
On a run at dusk, the car behind you matters as much as the one ahead. This double-layer knit carries a reflective stripe that runs 360 degrees around the hat, so headlights can pick it up from any side. At the front, or at the back if you turn the hat round, sits an LED light with three brightness levels.
Face the light forward to see your footing on the trail, or turn it to the back so the traffic behind you has a lamp to notice. In daylight you can fold the cuff to hide the reflective line and wear it as a plain striped beanie. Even with the cuff folded up, the knit covers your ears. The light charges from a standard USB port in a car, on a computer or from a power bank. The knit is 100% acrylic in two layers, and you can have it in dark orange, fluorescent yellow, navy blue, orange or rose red.
Compare the Reflective Stripe LED Beanie with the 3 other styles on the reflective beanies shelf, all part of the MELASA range.
Stripe 360 degrees round
The reflective stripe runs the full circle of the hat, so a driver coming from the side or from behind can catch it in the headlights.
Light forward or backward
Wear the light at the front to see where you step, or at the back as a lamp for the cars behind you.
Fold to hide the stripe
Turn the cuff the other way for daytime and the reflective line goes out of sight.
Ears covered, cuff up
The double layer of acrylic reaches over your ears even with the cuff folded.

Being seen
A reflective stripe helps a driver pick you out in headlights, and a switched-on light helps more. Traffic safety guidance puts reflective material where it moves, on wrists and ankles, as well as on your head. This beanie is not a high-visibility garment, so where a job calls for a vest, wear the vest.
