One thin cap for January, another for July

A skull cap has one job under a helmet: lie flat so the helmet fits the way it did without it. Our winter caps manage that with thin fleece at the crown and the warmth moved down to your ears. Three of them have holes for the arms of your glasses, one adds a short flip-up visor, and the Winter Helmet Liner with Glasses Holes stretches over heads from 22.4 to 24.4 inches.

The summer caps swap fleece for mesh and put a sweatband at the edge. The Cooling Mesh Skull Cap comes in 22 colors, the cycling cap carries a brim, and the ear flap cap covers the spot where the chin strap rubs. Three of them come three to a pack at about 17 grams a cap, light enough that a spare rides in a pocket. Keep one of each season in the helmet bag and let the weather pick.

Questions

Skull caps: what people ask

Should you pick a fleece or a mesh MELASA skull cap?

Pick by the season and by how hard you work. Fleece caps warm your ears on cold rides and shifts. Mesh caps catch sweat at the brow on hot days. If you ride or work all year, keep one of each in the helmet bag.

Do MELASA skull caps come in packs?

Yes. The Winter Helmet Liner comes in a 2-Pack, and three cooling caps come three to a pack: the Cooling Skull Cap, the Mesh Hard Hat Liner and the Sweat-Wicking Mesh Skull Cap.

Will a MELASA skull cap work with your glasses?

Three winter caps have a hole on each side for the arms of your glasses: both Winter Helmet Liners and the Ear Warmer Helmet Liner. The gear for glasses wearers page collects them with our side shields and goggles.
