    Fits and works with

Cycling, motorcycle rides, running, hiking and outdoor work in warm weather, on its own or under a helmet. Your helmet's maker has the last word on what sits inside the shell, so read its label before the first ride or shift. If you want fabric over the back of your neck, our liners with a neck cover have it. This one is a warm weather cap, not a winter hat.

    About this style

A cooling skull cap with sides that come down over your ears

A helmet strap that rubs the top of your ear all morning is the reason this cap exists. We took our mesh skull cap and lengthened the sides into ear covers, so the fabric sits between your ears and the straps, and the wind across them on a fast stretch of road is quieter. The deeper sides also wrap your head more snugly, which helps the cap stay where you put it.

The fabric is a quick-drying stretch mesh that wicks sweat and works as a sweat gutter at the brow, catching it before it reaches your eyes. It stretches to fit large and small heads and folds small enough for a jacket pocket. You pick it in three color pairs, each on a black base: army green camouflage, ink dyed black, or red.

    • Ear covers

Lengthened sides cover your ears and sit between them and the helmet straps, so the strap rubs fabric instead of skin.

    • Sweat gutter at the brow

The absorbent edge catches sweat at your forehead and keeps it out of your eyes on a climb or a work site.

    • Stretch fit

The mesh stretches over big and small heads without pinching, and the deeper ear section holds the cap in place.

    • Pocket size

It weighs little and folds flat, so you can carry it in a pocket or bag and pull it on when the helmet goes on.

    In the heat

A mesh cap soaks up sweat before it reaches your eyes, and that is all we claim for it. Heat illness guidance asks for water, rest and shade, and for time to get used to hot work. A cap that sits under a hard hat should fit the maker's rules for that hard hat.
