The fabric is a thin, breathable mesh that absorbs sweat and dries fast. It also keeps a cool feeling for a while after you wet it, which is worth knowing on a hot day near a hose or a water bottle. Between your hair and the helmet it takes up the moisture that would otherwise soak into the pads, so your helmet stays cleaner. It stretches to fit a range of head sizes for men and women.
